Cradled in Style: Sophisticated Step Bezels and Elegant Basket Settings. A 2-Day Stone Settings Workshop
On day one, students will construct step bezels for either cabochon or faceted stones, and learn additive and subtractive modifications to provide unique depth and variety beyond more traditional settings.
On day two, students will modify their own pair of cross-locking tweezers and use them to create wire basket settings (also known as prong settings) for a round or oval faceted gemstone. Students can expect to come away with two stone settings or more for use on a future project.
Skills Required: Intermediate and above – strong solder control, filing, and finishing skills needed. (Advanced beginners who have strong torch control may be permitted to join after discussion with instructor.)
