Opening Up the Design Mind: Creative Brainstorming In-Person at The Loft Jewelry Studio Mar. 18, 2027 |
Go from bench-blocked to bench-unlocked in this four-hour hands-on intensive in which participants run through a series of quick, repeatable creative exercises that help artists overcome the creative blahs. Whether you’re simply feeling disconnecting from your design process or you’re looking for the next big shift in your style, this workshop gives you permission to play and explore.
You’ll bring the seeds of your next great work in the form of half-finished or “stuck” projects, stones that speak to you, non-traditional materials and found object, photographs, poems, song lyrics, and more. With these as starting points, we’ll do some solo and collaborative exercises to draw inspiration from when you return to your own studio. Along the way, we’ll confront some of our blockers and target ways to overcome them. By the time you leave, you’ll be thinking in new ways about old themes and new directions and have a language of discovery that may help you work past future bench blocks.
Students who are also taking the Building Bold: Crafting Hollow Form Statement Necklaces three-day workshop may choose to focus on their hollow form design ideas or just go with the flow.
Skills Required: No specific skills needed - open to artists looking to expand their creative thinking.
